As fans eagerly await the name of the untitled Avengers 4, it seems there's a lot more they should be taking into consideration when it comes to the next chapter in Earth's Mightiest Heroes' battle against Thanos.

According to directors Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers 4 is some ways away from being edited, while they also haven't finished shooting the film.

"Joe and I always talk about it, there's this filmmaking adage that goes, 'You make a movie three times over: when you write it, when you shoot it, and when you edit it,'" Anthony Russo told ComicBook.com. "And so, right now, we have not edited that movie at all. So we haven't even gone through that whole phase of finding that film."

He added, "Not only that, we haven't even completely finished shooting it. We still have to shoot some stuff to complete the movie and even though we've shot the vast majority of it."

With reshoots sure to be involved as well, it seems that Avengers 4 is still very much early on in its formative stages. Given the reception to Infinity War and its cliffhanger ending, audiences will definitely want the Russo brothers behind their director chairs and in editing mode sooner rather than later.
