Thanos actor Josh Brolin has offered an update on the Avengers 4 script, indicating that it may not be complete. The film, just like its predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War, will be helmed by Joe and Anthony Russo, from a script by Captain America: Civil War's Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It's set to provide a conclusion and epilogue to the 22-movie arc that began with 2008's Iron Man.

Speaking with Good Morning America after his appearance for Infinity War at the Disney-run D23 Expo, Brolin indicated he hasn't even read the Avengers 4 script, saying:

“I haven’t done the second movie so I don’t know. I literally don’t know what the second script is. I don’t know if they’ve finished the second script, and that’s the truth. I think they’re in the midst of structuring and restructuring.”

Set to film immediately after Infinity War wraps principal photography very shortly, the untitled Avengers film is targeted for completion in December.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War boasts a sprawling ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie. The film arrives in theaters May 4, 2018, with the untitled sequel opening May 3, 2019.
