Star Ryan Reynolds is on record as hoping "Deadpool 2" may actually feature a "Cable and Deadpool" story as its plot, and "Avatar" star Stephen Lang has decided to throw his name into the ring for the upcoming sequel.

Lang took to Twitter to over the weekend express his interest in bringing the time-traveling son of Cyclops and Jean Grey to life in the now-greenlit sequel. In a pair of tweets, the actor gave fans admittance to his personal gun show, showing off his current physical fitness as he declared his readiness to "Lay some CABLE" for the follow-up film.

So far "Deadpool" has broken three box office records: Biggest opening weekend in February (beating out "Fifty Shades of Grey,) Biggest opening weekend in the winter (beating out "American Sniper,") and biggest opening weekend for an R-rated film (beating out "The Matrix Reloaded.)

"Deadpool" is currently in theaters and is directed by Tim Miller, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, and T.J. Miller
