[Avengers by Gary Frank]

Marvel Comics announced today that artist Gary Frank, known for his work on "Incredible Hulk" and "Midnight Nation," has signed an exclusivity agreement with the publisher. The artist joins the ranks of other comics pros who've signed exclusive deals with Marvel such as J. Michael Straczynski, John Romita Jr., Mark Millar, Bruce Jones, Darick Robertson and Kevin Smith. Fans of Frank's will get a chance to see his work this December when he illustrates "Avengers" #61 and #62, both available that month.

"Gary's been doing terrific work throughout the industry the last few years -- notably on 'Midnight Nation' -- so it's great to see him back at Marvel," Marvel editor Tom Brevoort said in

a statement. "With his strong dramatic sense and his deft hand at characterization, these two issues of 'Avengers' should make for a nice Christmas present to the fans."

"It's great to be working again on the characters that I grew up loving. In the first few weeks I've already had a ball doing characters like Captain America and Iron Man," Frank said in the release. "Besides, it seems that Marvel is the place to be right now. Joe has gathered together some great writers with which to work and it looks like there are exiting times ahead."
