It looks like the mysterious hacking group Helix will make a return in the sixth season of the CW’s Arrow.

While the show’s recent fifth season finale tied up some loose ends, most notably the Prometheus storyline that saw Arian Chase lash out at Green Arrow -- Oliver Queen -- one last time and served as a fitting end for certain characters. But that doesn’t mean the finale tied up every storyline neatly and with a bow. Well, not that kind of bow, at least. The Helix hacker collective, for example, still needs to be dealt with.

"[It's] a dangling thread, and we don’t like to leave those hanging around," Executive Producer Wendy Mericle said in an interview with TVLine. "It’d be a great, sort of built-in story for Felicity to revisit these people, who are not very happy with her, let’s be honest. We left that open-ended on purpose, for sure."

The hacktivist group has a brief but meaningful history with Team Arrow member Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards). The group helped Felicity save John Diggle, rescue their founder and even track down the ever-elusive Prometheus. Cayden James, Helix’s founder, eventually decided the group’s relationship with Felicity was a liability and the hacktivist collective subsequently disappeared without a trace.

Despite the disappearing act, Helix is still out there somewhere. How the group will rematerialize in season six remains to be seen, but it sounds like their return is only a matter of time.

Returning to the CW for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12, Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle and Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak.
