Arnold Schwarzenegger shared an update following heart surgery to replace his aortic valve.

"Thanks to the team at the Cleveland Clinic, I have a new aortic valve to go along with my new pulmonary valve from my last surgery," Schwarzenegger tweeted. "I feel fantastic and have already been walking the streets of Cleveland enjoying your amazing statues. Thank you to every doc and nurse on my team!" It's unclear from his post if this was a planned procedure.

As alluded to in his post, this isn't Schwarzenegger's first issue with his heart. In 1997, he received a replacement heart valve made from his own pulmonic valve tissue but was told the procedure would eventually have to be repeated. He was given the option to receive a mechanical valve, but the former professional bodybuilder decided against it, as it would have severely affected his physical performance. In 2018, he required emergency open-heart surgery to replace that valve.

Schwarzenegger made a name for himself as a bodybuilder, winning Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia and even serving as the namesake for the Arnold Sports Festival. In film, he's headlined such features as The Terminator, Conan the Barbarian, Predator, Total Recall, Running Man, True Lies and much, much more. He even served two terms as the governor of California.
