For one memorable scene on a 2013 episode of Archer, Sterling Archer (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin) worked at Bob's Burgers, replacing chef Bob Belcher (also H. Jon Benjamin). We got to see Linda and the kids animated in the show's distinct, award-winning style, and learned what might happen if the restaurant were suddenly filled with super-spies. More than four years later, one fan decided to try that experiment in reverse.

In a newly released short, animator Simon Chong created a world in which the agents of ISIS, spies from Archer visit Bob's Burgers, animated in the style of the Bob's Burgers cartoon.

Dialogue was lifted from both shows to create a story, allowing for conversations between Bob and Archer, as well as Linda and Mallory, plus an extremely awkward one-on-one between Tina and Lana.

Chong doesn't disappoint when it comes to character moments. Virtually all the characters get a chance to use their catchphrases, Carol Cheryl mocks the Belchers for being too poor, and Mallory has to contend with a prank from the Belcher kids.

The project is the result of seven months of animation work. "This piece started out as a doodle back in January 2017, and soon spiraled into something where I challenged to myself to imitate the Bob’s Burgers animation style," Chong explains. Using dialogue from both shows, form some sort of short where the characters meet. This has been an absolute passion project, and it’s made to honor both shows in the only way I know how, through my art."

The effort shows, particularly in the credits, which reimagine the gags of Bob's Burgers to reference Archer ("That's How You Get Ants"). The closing credits also combine a Bob's Burgers tradition with a very Archer musical choice.
