Last month it was reported that Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman was in talks to join the cast of DC's upcoming superhero film "Aquaman" in the role of the title hero's mother. Since that initial report, things have been quiet on the "Aquaman" casting front. We've instead seen the film's two leads, Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Amber Heard (Mera) training ahead of the start of production.

Now, a new synopsis for "Aquaman" published on Acting-Audtions.org just might serve as confirmation of Kidman's involvement in the film -- along with a number of other previously rumored actors.

“Aquaman” will center on Aquaman as a reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who is caught between land dwellers that are always polluting the globe and his own people who are ready to invade the surface. Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Jason Momoa will play Aquaman. Also starring is Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Hollywood Film Awards winner Amber Heard as Mera, two-time Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, two-time Golden Globe Award nominee Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master, New Zealand Film and TV Awards winner Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta.

Two-time Hollywood Film Awards winner James Wan will direct “Aquaman” from a screenplay written by Will Beall based on a treatment by Wan and DC Entertainment President Geoff Johns. Albert Cho is 1st AD. Producers are Jon Berg, Geoff Johns, Peter Safran, Deborah Snyder, and Zack Snyder. Rob Cowan will serve as executive producer.

“Aquaman” is scheduled to hit theaters on October 5, 2018.

The synopsis states that Kidman will play Aquaman's mother Atlanna. Additionally, actors Temuera Morrison and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, both previously said to be in talks for roles in the film, are listed in the synopsis as cast members. Morrison, who previously played Jango Fett in "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones," will play Aquaman's father Thomas Curry. Mateen, who previously starred in the Netflix original series "The Get Down," is on board to play the super villain Black Manta.

This specific synopsis has not been officially released by DC or Warner Bros., so it's still possible that Kidman, Morrison and Mateen are still in negotiations.

Directed by James Wan and starring Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Amber Heard (Mera), Patrick Wilson (Orm) and Willem Dafoe (Nuidis Vulko), “Aquaman” swims into theaters on October 5, 2018. Aquaman will next be seen in “Justice League,” which opens on November 17.
