Owing in part to a particularly strong performance in China, Aquaman is expected to reach $750 million worldwide by Sunday. Some projections peg Aquaman as earning approximately $1 billion at the worldwide box office before it finishes its run, though whether the film will actually hit that massive milestone remains to be seen. Regardless, Aquaman has already earned more money worldwide than 2017's Justice League and is one of the most-profitable films in the DCEU.

Women are, reportedly, helping to drive Aquaman's success at the box office and are showing up in large numbers for the hero's first solo outing.

The second highest-grossing film of the weekend will be Disney's Mary Poppins Returns, which has earned $102.9 million after two weeks in theaters. Bumblebee and Spider-ManInto the Spider-Verse were the 3rd and 4th highest-earning films of the weekend, respectively.
