In May, photos from from the Queensland, Australia, set of Aquaman provided a look at Amnesty Bay, including a building that was speculated to be the Curry Lighthouse. However, it appears as if that wasn't the case, as new images and drone video show construction of the lighthouse under way in Hastings Point, New South Wales.

The video arrives courtesy of Gold Coast Bulletin, which reports the Warner Bros. production will spend a total of eight weeks at the popular whale-watching spot. Director James Wan is expected to capture footage there for three days beginning in August.

It's unknown whether stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson or Nicole Kidman will film scenes at the location, but Temuera Morrison, who plays Aquaman's father Tom Curry, will be there.

Also known as the Amnesty Bay Lighthouse, the Curry Lighthouse was introduced in 1959's Adventure Comics #260, which featured the first appearance of Tom Curry. As Aquaman was raised at the lighthouse, it seems likely that some of the scenes filmed there will involve a young Arthur, although there's a possibility the adult version may make his way there as well.

Not much is known about the plot of Aquaman, although it's expected to occur after the events of Justice League. Wan has characterized the story as a "swashbuckling action-adventure, sort of high seas adventure story" like Raiders of the Lost Ark and Romancing the Stone. He teased that it's "ultimately a quest story," but has yet to reveal what the object of that search might be.

Opening Dec. 21, 2018, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, and and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta.
