"Ant-Man" and "Rocket and Groot" are going solo. According to Variety, Marvel Animation has plans to produce two separate TV shorts series about these characters in France, where the studio will receive government rebates on any work performed there.

French directors Ugo Bienvenu and Kevin Manach are on board to helm "Ant-Man," while Arnaud Delord will take the reigns on "Rocket and Groot." As io9 points out, Bienvenu and Manach are known for their retro, graphic style (as in the video below), though Delord's past credits are mostly music videos.

Though all of these title characters have appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it won't be the first time they've been animated, either. Hank Pym's Ant-Man appeared in "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes," while Scott Lang featured in "Avengers Assemble." Both Rocket Raccoon and Groot star in Marvel's animated "Guardians of the Galaxy" series and have guest starred in "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes," "Avengers Assemble" and "Ultimate Spider-Man."

No release date or casting information has been announced for either TV short.
