"Ant-Man" is headed to movie theaters a little sooner than expected, with the Marvel Studios film moving release dates from Nov. 6, 2015 to July 31, 2015, as reported by Deadline.

This adds to an already busy summer 2015, including fellow Marvel Studios production "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" (out May 1 of that year); the untitled Superman/Batman film from Warner Bros. (July 17); and Star Wars: Episode VII, the first entry in that franchise since Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm (no release date yet, but scheduled in the summer).

"Ant-Man" shared its previous release date with the next James Bond film from director Sam Mendes and star Daniel Craig. The previous entry in that franchise, last year's "Skyfall," grossed more than a billion dollars worldwide.

No "Ant-Man" cast has been announced, but Edgar Wright (most recently of "The World's End") is directing, and also co-wrote the script with Joe Cornish, who he worked with on 2011's "The Adventures of Tintin" film. Wright was first hired for the film in 2006.
