It's getting difficult to sort out the facts from the fiction where Fox's Fantastic Four reboot is concerned.

Days after a "totally false" synopsis hit the web, a new casting rumor reared its head, suggesting that Book of Mormon actor Josh Gad was in line to play Ben Grimm, alias The Thing. Director Josh Trank has denied the rumor, saying it's "not true." Likewise, Gad debunked the buzz with some snarky comments of his own:

Everyone please calm down. There is no truth to rumor of me playing Grimm . Besides, I'm too busy prepping to play a young Luke Skywalker.

I am currently deciding between playing Aquaman and the Flash. Will let you know when I reach a decision.

Please don't tell anyone but I am testing for SquirrelGirl

Hey, at least Gad is deep-cut enough to know who Squirrel Girl is.

As of now, the only thing official about the Fantastic Four reboot's cast is that nothing is official. Michael B. Jordan is rumored to play Johnny Storm, but Fox and Trank haven't confirmed that.

Fantastic Four is scheduled for release on June 19, 2015.
