If you were among those who reacted negatively last week to the first official look at Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, take heart: Anne Hathaway promises there's more to the catsuit than meets the eye.

"What I am happy to say is, if you didn't like the photo, you only see about a tenth of what that suit can do," she tells MTV Movie News. "And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste."

What Hathaway means is anyone's guess. Between the Warner Bros. still and the subsequent snapshots of her stunt double, we get a pretty good idea of what the costume looks like -- from the goggles and utility belt to the thigh-high boots and arm-length gloves. Maybe there's a cat-eared cowl, similar to the one Darwyn Cooke designed for the comics? Of course, the actress says "what the suit can do," suggesting that the costume, well, does something ... Glow in the dark? Inflate? Cling to walls?

Ah, Christopher Nolan and his myriad secrets.

The Dark Knight Rises, which opens July 20, 2012, also stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman.
