Renowned director David O. Russell is heading to the small screen. Deadline reports the filmmaker has teamed with Susannah Grant (Erin Brokovich) to develop a series for ABC described as an "upstairs/downstairs soap set at a private country club." Sounding a bit like a modern-day Downton Abbey, the untitled project will kick off with a 13-episode season.

This marks Russell's first foray into television. His American Hustle was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. While he co-wrote the television story with Grant, she handled the actual teleplay. Russell will stay on as a co-executive producer.
