Neil Gaiman fans, rejoice! It looks as though "American Gods" will be the first in a long line of Neil Gaiman works adapted for television. FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) has entered into an exclusive, multi-year first look agreement with the author.

FMNA and Gaiman entered the agreement following their adaption of Gaiman’s "American Gods." This new agreement will see FMNA and Gaiman adapting his other works for television. Furthermore, the deal allows for the adaptation of projects involving third party source material and intellectual properties. Gaiman’s involvement will be front and center in any and all adaptations; he’ll have roles as producer and writer.

Many of these will bring in acclaimed creators from additional fields. Cat Mihos will continue to serve as the director of development for Gaiman’s The Blank Corporation.

“Neil Gaiman is one of the most distinctive writers of our time and we’ve been incredibly fortunate to be entrusted with his vision while adapting 'American Gods,'" said Craig Cegielski, co-CEO of FremantleMedia North America, in a statement. "Our experience together has proven more than collaborative -- it’s a shared ambition to create, develop and produce singular, bespoke content. "Working with my friends at FremantleMedia on shepherding 'American Gods' to the screen has been exciting and delightful way to spend the last three years. I've learned to trust them, and to harness their talents and enthusiasm, as they've learned to harness mine," added Gaiman. "They don't mind that I love creating a ridiculously wide variety of things, and I am glad that even the strangest projects of mine will have a home with them. 'American Gods' is TV nobody has seen before and I can't wait to announce the specifics behind what we have coming up next."

Production on the first season of their adaptation "American Gods" has been completed. The series is set to premiere Sunday, April 30th on STARZ  in the U.S. Internationally, the series will debut on Amazon Prime Video Monday, May 1st.
