"Preacher," long in development as a series for AMC, has officially gone into production.

"I can't believe we are fucking doing this," producer/director Seth Rogen tweeted earlier today, alongside a photo of the show's production slate, emblazoned with Glenn Fabry cover art from the DC Comics/Vertigo comic that serves as the show's inspiration.

"Preacher," based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's acclaimed comic, stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as Jesse's ex-girlfriend Tulip, Joseph Gilgun as his vampire friend Cassidy, Ian Colletti as Arseface and Lucy Griffiths as Emily, a character created for the TV show.

Rogen, his frequent collaborator Evan Goldberg and "Breaking Bad" alum Sam Catlin developed "Preacher" for AMC, based on the seminal series and with a pilot written by Catlin.
