AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462" web series, which premieres on AMC.com on October 4 and runs for 16 one-minute episodes, will air during "The Walking Dead's" commercial breaks starting with season six's October 11 debut. Each "Flight 462" episode will debut online every Sunday before airing as promos during new episodes of "The Walking Dead."

This standalone "The Walking Dead" web series will find several airline passengers up against a deadly walker attack during "Fear the Walking Dead's" timeline. Though "The Walking Dead" has made use of online bonus content before, this is the first time it will appear on the air as well. No other details are known about the project at this time, though it's safe to assume that flight is headed to Los Angeles, as one of the web series' characters will go on to appear in "Fear the Walking Dead's" sophomore season. Dave Erickson and "Fear" co-executive producer David Weiner will produce the project.

"'Flight 462' is a great extension of the world of 'Fear' and will engage fans across multiple platforms with another riveting story set at the start of the fall of civilization," Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV, said in a statement. "We are thrilled to be collaborating with Dave Erickson and David Wiener on another piece of original content. Watching how they'll bring one of these new characters to the second season of 'Fear' will be really exciting for viewers to follow."

Based on the Image Comics series of the same name and created by Robert Kirkman, the sixth season of "The Walking Dead" is scheduled to debut with a 90-minute episode Oct. 11 on AMC. Airing on Sundays at 9 pm EST, "Fear the Walking Dead" was co-created by Kirkman and Erickson and stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Mercedes Mason and more.
