AMC has renewed its Revolutionary War drama Turn for a 10-episode second season.

"Craig Silverstein, Barry Josephson and a talented cast and crew delivered a truly distinctive and engaging premiere season. We look forward to continuing this revolutionary journey into season two," AMC President Charlie Collier said in a statement. "AMC and its creative partners have a track record of nurturing programs we collectively believe in, patiently growing viewership and engagement over time. With Turn, once again, we dive in with our partners to build upon this very promising first season."

Based on Alexander Rose's 2007 book Washington's Spies, the series tells the story of America's first spy ring. Jamie Bell stars as Abraham Woodhull, a farmer living in British-occupied Long Island, who bands together with a group of childhood friends to form the Culper Ring, which ultimately helped George Washington turn the tide of the war.

This summer the cable channel will pair reruns of Turn's season with Hell on Wheels on Saturday nights. The drama will return for its second season next spring.
