At the MTV Movie Awards, Joss Whedon gave a very brief and succinct update on his progress for “The Avengers 2.”
“It’s going well,” Whedon said. “It is. I’m very excited about it. I think it might be a better movie.”

SuperHeroHype reports from this year’s CinemaCon that Michael Bay announced Stanley Tucci as the newest cast member for “Transformers 4.” Tucci will join Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz for the sequel with more actors yet to be revealed.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER
Anthony Mackie spoke with blackfilm.com about his role as Sam Wilson/The Falcon in the upcoming “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
“I’m happy to say that I’m in a good deal of the movie and I play an integral part with Captain America taking down the Winter Soldier,” Mackie told blackfilm.com. “It’s great. They started the shoot 2 1/2 weeks ago and once I finished doing press for ‘Pain & Gain,’ I go in and join them. I’ve been doing combat training and fitness training just to get prepared. It’s going to be something and I’m excited for it.”

In casting news, Danny Woodburn has been cast as Master Splinter in “Ninja Turtles.” Woodburn, a “Seinfeld” alum, also has recurring roles on “Bones” and appeared in “Mirror Mirror.”
Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Alan Ritchson, who has been cast as Raphael, about the reboot and what fans can expect.
“The frustrating thing for me since I’ve signed on is that you hear that it’s already got a reputation,” Ritchson told THR. “I think people assume they know what it’s going to be about, and those people are wrong. The assumptions, everything you read online is wrong. You want to tell everybody how great it is, and you can’t really say why, but it is.”
