AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2With the announcement that previously-filmed footage of Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson would be cut from "Amazing Spider-Man 2," many wondered the reasoning for the move. After all the, footage had already been shot. HollywoodLife.com reports a new rumor that the reason her scenes were cut was due to a plot point many suspected would occur in the sequel: the death of Gwen Stacy.

"Emma Stone's character dies in the next film and that really would take a bunch out of the film if Spider-Man all the sudden starts dating a new girl so close to an important characters death," HollywoodLife's source stated. "They were noticing this occurring as they filmed Shailene's scenes. They want to make the death of Gwen Stacy really mean something and then it will leave room for Shailene to shine in the third film."

Right now, this is completely unconfirmed, but the creative direction would most definitely make sense. Stay tuned for more as it develops.

MAN OF STEEL"Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder spoke with Moviehole.net about the recently-announced "Man of Steel 2" sequel on the fast-track for development from Warner Bros.

"I'm going to be a hundred percent honest with you, I haven't yet gotten to speak to the studio about all these awesome details (because I've been overseas on the junket)," Snyder said. "So my hope is, when I get home I can sit down with everyone and it'll be like 'Okay, so what are we going to do? ... We need to do something...'"

Snyder also briefly discussed whether "Man of Steel" leads in to "Justice League," though he was cagey about it.

"I really wanted to expand the DC Universe and I really wanted to make sure, in Superman's world, that all that is a possibility," Snyder told Moviehole.

"There's a lot in store, a lot that the comic book fans are really going to enjoy and a lot of unexpected relationships that are going to be formed," Haynes said. "I think that Roy's going to have to go through a lot to experience the level that Oliver has, because Oliver was fighting for his life for five years.
