Here's some very big news that can be summed up in a single sentence: Pixar has announced it will release an original, non-sequel/prequel film on Nov. 27, 2013. The words between the lines read: "Makers of CG animated films ... keep your release dates far, far away from Nov. 27, 2013." Literally no other information has been revealed, not even a title. It won't be the Monsters Inc. sequel Monsters University, nor will it be Brave, which, although an all-new original story, was previously announced and has a title.

I dare you to speculate. Pixar has again and again proven to be one of the most uniquely creative forces operating in Hollywood today. While certain motifs and themes are common across all of the studio's films, the actual plot of this unannounced story could involve anything from a space-faring, talking hamster to the bizarrely human-like ecosystem that exists at the heart of a volcano. Whatever the story ends up being about, you can safely bet on it being good and at least a little tear-jerking.
