Introduced last year, the event's April 26 date is a nod to planet LV-426 from the sci-fi horror franchise. The planned fan-focused festivities on that day include a live-streaming event with the cast of "Covenant," a screening of 1979's "Alien" and "Prometheus," special reveals and product launches.

Here's a rundown of Fox's plans for Alien Day:

  • A live-streaming event at Fox Studios in Los Angeles, beginning at April 26 10 a.m. PT, and carried on all "Alien" social-media channels at AlienUniverse.com. It will include a cast Q&A and behind-the-scenes segments highlighting the making of "Alien: Covenant."
  • A global one-night screening of director Ridley Scott's "Alien" and "Prometheus" at participating RPX Regal Cinema theaters in the United States and worldwide partners.
  • The "MU/TH/UR of all 'Alien' Trivia Challenges" at AlienUniverse.com, with a new quiz unveiled every four hours and 26 minutes. Fans will answer a series of rapid-fire questions for a chance to win a VIP trip to Ridley Scott's upcoming Imprint Ceremony at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and other prizes.
  • A fan-art contest, with the winning entry to be transformed into a limited-edition T-shirt available with the purchase of the "Alien: Covenant" Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD.

Additionally on April 18, fans will be able to own the complete “Alien Universe” on Blu-ray, featuring four limited-edition Mondo "Alien" poster cards. "Alien" merchandise will also debut from such licensees as Dark Horse, Funko, Titan, Audible, PPW Toys, NECA, Cool Props, and Hallmark.
