The “Alien” film franchise has always toyed with the idea of life -- where it comes from and what exactly it means to be alive. The latest Korean poster for the next film in the series, “Alien: Covenant,” pairs two unique forms of life: The artificially created android Walter and the grotesque alien Xenomorph. Translated into English, the poster poses the question: "What will be the end of mankind?"

“Alien: Covenant” is the Ridley Scott-directed sequel to “Prometheus.” The film chronicles the trials of the colonist seed ship Covenant as its crew travels to the furthest reaches of spaces in hopes of settling a habitable world. Comprised entirely of couples, the crew is surprised to find their intended new home is actually inhabited, first by the android David, and then by a well-known race of jet black aliens.

Michael Fassbender will play both the roles of David and Walter. The android in the poster is Walter, a member of the Covenant who aids the ship’s crew in their daily functions. David was the android featured in “Prometheus” (also played by Fassbender) who betrayed the crew of the Prometheus to serve his master and creator, Peter Weyland.

Debuting in theaters on May 19, “Alien: Covenant” is a production of 20th Century Fox directed by Ridley Scott and starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride and Demian Bichir.
