The CW's Arrow continues to roll out exciting casting news for fans of science fiction/fantasy television as Zap2It reports actor David Anders will play the newest addition to the superhero drama's growing rogue's gallery.

Anders, best known for his roles as Julian Sark on Alias, Uncle John on The Vampire Diaries and Dr. Frankenstein on Once Upon A Time, will portray new character Cyrus Vanch, a ruthless career criminal fresh from prison ready to cause trouble for Oliver Queen and Starling City.

While Anders will debut as Vanch in Episode 13 of Arrow, the description of the character's story makes it seem as though he may be around for more than one episode. Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) enlists Arrow to bring down Vanch after she discovers the Starling City police can't get the job done. Considering Vanch's M.O. is to "take control of Starling City's criminal underworld," and he plans to eliminate Arrow, it's possible his story will take more than one episode to tell.

Anders is the latest in a number of casting announcements for the show, which include fan-favorite Torchwood star John Barrowman and Fringe actor Seth Gabel as a Count Vertigo-inspired villain.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
