As The Sinister Six simmers as part of Sony's Amazing Spider-Man spinoff scheme, attention starts to turn to the question of which villains will be included in the film, and who will play them.

The Amazing Spider-Man universe, such as it is, already includes several notable rogues and equally notable actors: Dane DeHaan as Green Goblin, Rhys Ifans as Lizard, Jamie Foxx as Electro and Paul Giamatti as Rhino. But what are the odds we'll see some characters — and actors — from the Sam Raimi era of Spider-Man movies?

There's at least one Raimi veteran who hopes to see that possibility through: Alfred Molina, who starred as ill-fated scientist Otto Octavius in Spider-Man 2. In an interview with Collider, Molina made it clear he would happily reprise his role as Doc Ock for any future project, considering how much fun he had in the Raimi film.

"That was the most fun I think I’ve ever had on a movie of that kind, you know, those big, big sort of features where you spend like six months hanging off a wire, you know, and that stuff," he said. "But it was the first movie of that kind that I’ve ever been involved in. I had a wonderful time. I loved it. I mean, I’d go back and do it again in a heartbeat."

Of course, the likelihood of Molina returning to Spider-Man as Doc Ock is not especially high — something that Molina himself is more than aware of.

"The thing is, no actor owns those roles," he conceded.

The Sinister Six is scheduled for release on November 11, 2016.
