Acclaimed artist Alex Ross has created iconic images of not just comic book heroes, from Superman to Wonder Woman to the Avengers, but beyond, with the likes of the Beatles, "Clive Barker's Hellraiser" and "Terminator: The Burning Earth." Now, however, Ross has turn his attention to some truly legendary properties -- the Universal Monsters.
In a perfect pairing for the season, Ross has released a sneak peek at his classic Universal Monsters set, which will debut next summer at Comic-Con International in San Diego. There will be a print title “Monster Mash," featuring all of the creatures, but also painted renditions of each of the iconic monsters. The pieces come in either black and white or a color tinted editions.
Universal Monsters is an umbrella term for the series of Universal Pictures horror films beginning in 1923 with the release of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," and continuing through the 1950s with such classics as "Dracula," "Frankenstein," "The Invisible Man," "Bride of Frankenstein" and "The Wolf Man."
