When "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns from its winter hiatus, Ming-Na Wen will have two roles to play. In addition to Agent Melinda May, Wen will also play her LMD double, who has been masquerading as the real May for some unknown length of time. As such, Wen has some special insight into Aida's devious plans, as well as the android's reasoning behind them.

Of course, Wen's tease could very well be considered a spoiler, so -- if you're looking to go into the episode clean -- don't read on.

“The big question is, ‘What is Radcliffe's motivation?’ -- not so much Aida's -- because he's the taskmaster in this whole scheme of changing out May for the LMD May," Wen revealed to TVLine. "Is [his agenda] for something good … or is he the mad scientist hoping to advance science? I don't think he went through all this trouble for s--ts and giggles!”

Added Mallory Jansen, who plays Aida, “Never trust an android.”

Leading up to next week's mid-season premiere, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." has made Aida out to be the villain of the "LMD" storyline, but Wen's comment suggests otherwise. A turn like this certainly wouldn't be out of line for Radcliffe, who voluntarily worked with Hive as the ancient Inhuman attempted to transform everyone on Earth into an Inhuman. Though he was later absolved of his crimes, Radcliffe works with strict oversight at S.H.I.E.L.D., which likely goes against his true, morally ambiguous nature.
