A revolution is coming to "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4, but it doesn't have anything to do with the Inhumans. When the show returns from its winter break, the LMDs will rise, and -- according to a new promo -- S.H.I.E.L.D. will pay the price.
The teaser shows some footage from previous episodes, like Aida toying with a holographic brain, before transitioning over to scenes from next week's mid-season premiere. It looks like Radcliffe and Fitz will be on the receiving end of Aida's wrath, while Mack and Yo-Yo dodge not-so-friendly fire from the Quinjet and Simmons slams a glass on what appears to be Director Mace's head.

In the Season 4 mid-season finale, the show wrapped up its ongoing Ghost Rider story arc when Robbie Reyes and his nefarious uncle Eli Morrow disappeared into a different dimension. After this grand finale, however, things took a dark turn for Coulson and his crew. Unbeknownst to S.H.I.E.L.D., Aida has developed plans of her own. As revealed in the episode, the Agent May we’ve seen over the past several episodes is actually an LMD. Meanwhile, Aida has been keeping the real Agent May sedated and hidden away from her friends and family. It’s unclear what her plans are for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but the synopsis for the “LMD” storyline describes them as “evil,” so it’s not looking good for May.

According to the official description for “Broken Promises,” the mid-season premiere,
Though Coulson and May are growing closer, Coulson remains unaware of the dark secret May is hiding beneath the surface. Meanwhile, Aida is unrelenting in her search for the Darkhold.
