The season four premiere of Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is right around the corner and some photos from the first episode, titled "The Ghost," have emerged. The images show us a couple shots of Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May and Henry Simmons as Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie. Both characters have taken leadership roles within S.H.I.E.L.D. and one could assume they'll encounter the character shown in the fifth picture, Robbie Reyes. And if you don't recognize Gabriel Luna's character in that photo, just imagine him with a flaming skull instead of a face. Yep, Reyes will eventually channel the spirit of vengeance: Ghost Rider.

Reyes, played by Gabriel Luna, and the Ghost Rider have been a major part of the marketing for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" upcoming season with found-footage showing Reyes' ride of choice and emblazoned show teasers carrying the "Vengeance" tagline.

Johnny Blaze, the motorcycle-riding daredevil version of Ghost Rider, was brought to life by Nicholas Cage in two "Ghost Rider" feature films, but that's not who writers are tapping for "S.H.I.E.L.D." Robbie Reyes is actually the fourth person to take on the spirit of vengeance. In the comics, Reyes is a street racer riding in a Dodge Charger-like vehicle as opposed to a motorcycle, and he wants to clean up his neighborhood while protecting his disabled little brother Gabe. Gabe will also feature into the TV show, and he's being played by Lorenzo James Henrie from "Fear The Walking Dead."

After starting off fairly grounded, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." has turned into quite the gateway for powerful beings in the MCU. The show introduced big Hydra players and a handful of Inhumans in its first three seasons and the arrival of Ghost Rider could open doors for a demonic plane not yet shown in the Marvel films or television shows.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" fourth season premieres on Tuesday, September 20th on ABC.
