Agents of SHIELD: Aida Shows Off Her Dangerous Upgrades in New Clip

In a new clip from the mid-season premiere, Radcliffe attempts to shut Aida down -- and that's when things go very wrong.

Aida's mysterious plans won't be secret for too much longer. In a new clip from "Broken Promises," the mid-season premiere of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", the LMD proves she has a few aces up her sleeves when Fitz and Holden Radcliffe stop by for an unexpected visit.

The clip opens at Radcliffe's house, where Aida stands staring out the window. Shortly thereafter, Fitz and Radcliffe arrive with two unnamed men, who are likely also S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Upon seeing Fitz, Aida asks him if he's okay, to which he responds that he's fine, if overwhelmed with work. Radcliffe then attempts to shut her down -- and that's when things go very wrong.

In the Season 4 mid-season finale, the show wrapped up its ongoing Ghost Rider story arc when Robbie Reyes and his nefarious uncle Eli Morrow disappeared into a different dimension. After this grand finale, however, things took a dark turn for Coulson and his crew. Unbeknownst to S.H.I.E.L.D., Aida has developed plans of her own. As revealed in the episode, the Agent May we’ve seen over the past several episodes is actually an LMD. Meanwhile, Aida has been keeping the real Agent May sedated and hidden away from her friends and family. It’s unclear what her plans are for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but the synopsis for the “LMD” storyline describes them as “evil,” so it’s not looking good for May.

According to the official description for the episode,

Though Coulson and May are growing closer, Coulson remains unaware of the dark secret May is hiding beneath the surface. Meanwhile, Aida is unrelenting in her search for the Darkhold.
