"Afterlife With Archie" has undoubtedly been a huge success for Archie Comics, and it looks like the publisher is hoping to bring the horror title to a wider audience. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new 48-page "Afterlife With Archie" magazine will head to newsstands in October, reprinting the main story from the "Afterlife With Archie" comic book plus a collection of various special features.

"'Afterlife' exists because Francesco drew a magazine cover -- his zombie variant for 'Life with Archie' -- so to have 'Afterlife' reprinted in this format is just great and feels like a homecoming of sorts," Aguirre-Sacasa told THR. "It places 'Afterlife' in the proud traditions of horror magazines like 'Creepy' and 'Eerie.' And the larger format makes Francesco's art look that much more spectacular. This is a truly thrilling development."

THR further notes that special features for the first issue will include a preview of Aguirre-Sacasa's upcoming "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" ongoing series with Robert Hack, and CBR has confirmed with Archie Comics representatives that the included pages in the magazine have been seen already online. The magazine will retail for $4.99, and arrives on newsstands in early October with comic shop distribution to follow on October 22.

The most recent issue of "Afterlife With Archie" hit in July -- a one-shot centering on what happened to Sabrina Spellman -- with "Afterlife With Archie" #7, the start of a new arc, announced but with no release date set.
