DC Comics is releasing their digital-first "Adventures of Supergirl" series -- based on the TV outings of Melissa Benoist's "Supergirl" on CBS -- as a limited-run six-issue miniseries that will ship twice-monthly for $2.99, starting in May.

The "Adventures of Supergirl" series will ship every two weeks for three months, collecting three chapters of the digital-first series per print installment. "Adventures of Supergirl" #1 -- collecting chapters one through three -- hits stands on May 11.

Having launched in January, "Adventures of Superman" is written by veteran Supergirl scribe Sterling Gates, and features a stable of rotating artists, including Bengal, Jonboy Meyers, Pop Mhan, Emanuela Lupacchino, Carmen Carnero, Cat Staggs and Emma Vieceli.

In addition to the announcement of the print series, DC released the covers for issue three and four of the series, illustrated by Staggs.
