Academy Award nominee Amy Adams appeared Wednesday on “Ellen,” bringing with her the first clip from “Man of Steel,” Zack Snyder’s hotly anticipated reboot of the Warner Bros. Superman franchise. Considering the actress, and not Henry Cavill, was Ellen DeGeneres’ guest, it’s only fitting the scene doesn’t feature the Last of Krypton, but instead Adams’ Lois Lane and Laurence Fishburne’s Perry White.
The clip features a confrontation between the star reporter and her irascible editor — the details are unclear, but it’s a safe bet it has something to do with the Man of Steel — that ends with Lois’ three-week suspension from the Daily Planet, with threats of a lawsuit and firing sprinkled in for good measure.
Opening June 14, “Man of Steel” also stars Michael Shannon as Zod, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Antje Traue as Faora, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, Michael Kelly as Steve Lombard and Richard Schiff as Dr. Emil Hamilton.
A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.
