ABC has canceled its freshman dramas Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue. According to The Hollywood Reporter, neither series lived up to the network's hopes, ratings-wise. Interestingly, both shows had recent orders for two more episodes, bumping each one up to 13 total. All 13 episodes will air.

Last Resort followed a nuclear sub crew as they decided to secede from the nation after an attack from their own government. The action drama was created by The Shield's Shawn Ryan and Karl Gajdusek, and stars Andre Braugher and Scott Speedman. Ryan already has two other projects in the works: Beverly Hills Cop at CBS and a U.S. marshals series at TNT.

666 Park Avenue stars Vanessa Williams, Terry O'Quinn, Dave Annable and Rachael Taylor as tenants of a mysterious, possibly supernaturally tinged upscale residence in New York City.

One possible bright side for fans of both shows is that, because the network ordered two more episodes of each, they might actually have specific end points, unlike a lot of other series that don't get picked up for full seasons.
