Here is the latest in our year-long look at one cool comic (whether it be a self-contained work, an ongoing comic or a run on a long-running title that featured multiple creative teams on it over the years) a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here's the archive of the comics posted so far!

Has JSA #54, the Thanksgiving issue between the Justice Society and the Justice League, ever been collected? If not, it should be! Geoff Johns, Don Kramer and Keith Champagne tell a delightful story of a superhero Thanksgiving celebration.

The recurring joke of the issue (labeled Virtue, Vice and Pumpkin Pie, an homage to the previous JLA/JSA crossover graphic novel which was also set at a JLA/JSA gettogether) is Batman telling Mister Terrific that, with this many superheroes, SOMEthing is bound to go down...

Don Kramer, who was still pretty new to the title, really did a great job with all the heroes in this issue (Keith Champagne clearly helped a lot with his inks). Just a bright issue overall.

Anyhow, almost all of the issue is just Johns having fun with having various characters interact who don't normally interact. Sometimes with not so super-duper consequences...

Looking back, there's also a great scene in the comic (that I'm not showing here) that sets up a plot line later in the series (where two characters get together romantically). I didn't even remember it happening all the way back here, which was about three years before the two characters got together for real.

Finally, here the heroes are getting ready for dinner...

As you might imagine, the energy effect at the end was a way of saying, "Yeah, Batman was right." Find out who is attacking by picking up this issue! It's a lot of fun and you don't get many cool comics about Thanksgiving, so this was a real treat! Thanks to all involved!
