Here is the latest in our year-long look at one cool comic (whether it be a self-contained work, an ongoing comic or a run on a long-running title that featured multiple creative teams on it over the years) a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here‘s the archive of the moments posted so far!
Today we take a look at a great five-issue mini-series about the Vietnam War by Jason Aaron and Cameron Stewart called the Other Side!
The 2006 mini-series, the Other Side, by Jason Aaron and Cameron Stewart, is a brilliant look at the Vietnam War from the viewpoint of an American soldier and a Vietnamese soldier. As the book goes along, the title of the comic takes on a whole other meaning, but that would give away too much.
For now, I think honestly the introductory five pages will give you an appreciation for the set-up of the story as well as the amazing art from Cam Stewart.
Check it out…
Isn’t that a damned impressive opening to the series?
I suppose I should give a glimpse at a later issue, as well, so here’s a snippet from #4…
Again, Aaron and Stewart combine to form a beautifully off-kilter work here.
