Here is the latest in our year-long look at one cool comic (whether it be a self-contained work, an ongoing comic or a run on a long-running title that featured multiple creative teams on it over the years) a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here's the archive of the moments posted so far!

Today we take a look at the acclaimed one-shot story of New Teen Titans, "Who is Donna Troy?" by Marv Wolfman, George Perez and Romeo Tanghal...

Enjoy!

Very early on, New Teen Titans #38 lets you know that this is issue is different from typical issues of Titans, just look at the opening pages...

The story revolves around Terry Long, the fiance of Robin's Titans teammate, Donna Troy, asking him to look into Donna's past for their wedding...

After Dick gets her permission...

It's cool to see Dick acting like a real detective in the issue (Wolfman has him refer to himself as a teenaged Ellery Queen - cute).

The doll leads them to a toymaker who used to fix up dolls for an orphanage. They track down the head of the orphanage, who recognizes the doll and Donna...

this leads them to a heartfelt reunion with Donna' first adoptive mother...

I won't spoil the rest of the issue, but note that there is still a lot of coolness in the issue, including...

1. Robin being Batman-esque with a crook

2. A graveside farewell

and

3. A nice piece of introspection by Robin to close out the issue

Perez and Tanghal did a nice job mixing up the artistic vibe of the comic to match Wolfman's story (Perez, of course, also co-plotted - that should be noted).

A classic "done in one" issue whose plot would sadly become a bit moot by the post-Crisis reboot of Wonder Woman, leading to a whole lot more Donna Troy origins over the years.

But this one I would definitely say is the best one!
