Here is the latest cool comic book moment in our year-long look at one cool comic book moment a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here's the archive of the moments posted so far!

Today we continue our special Tear-Jerker Week of cool comic book moments!

Today's "tear jerker" moment comes from the last issue of the first year of The Invisibles.

Enjoy!

In the first issue of the Invisibles, Dane (the future Jack Frost) is introduced to King Mob during a cool-looking action scene, as King Mob kills a bunch of security guards on route to saving Dane from the bad guys.

In the last issue of the first year of the Invisibles, writer Grant Morrison turns the genre on its head a bit with a look into the life of a man named Bobby.

We see Bobby's life, and all the happy times and the sour times (zigging and zagging through time from his childhood to adulthood and back), but the main thing is is that we get to know him, even as we slowly move to the point where Bobby takes a job as a security job.

One last time, we flash back to the point in time where he proposes to his wife

And then we end with the scene from issue #1...Bobby is one of the security guards who is casually killed in #1.

It's a heartbreaking twist, and a wonderful condemnation on the way that we, as readers, get too used to the violence we see in action stories.
