Here is the latest cool comic book moment in our year-long look at one cool comic book moment a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here's the archive of the moments posted so far!

Today we take a look at the first issue of Greg Rucka's acclaimed Wonder Woman run.

Enjoy!

Wonder Woman #195, by Greg Rucka and Drew Johnson, tells two concurrent stories.

In one, we follow a new recruit to Wonder Woman's embassy staff.

In the other, we follow Wonder Woman on a peacekeeping mission. Rucka and Johnson make sure not to show Wonder Woman clearly during any of the peacekeeping mission. She's either a blur, off-panel or otherwise obscured. That leaves her first full appearance for the end of the issue, as she meets the new recruit, who has been spending the whole issue getting acquainted with Wonder Woman's staff and the crazy life they all live, including occasional visits from Superman (NOTE: At this point in time, Donna Troy was "dead").

"The" moment for me has to be the ending, with Wonder Woman taking him flying.

Rucka did a great job integrating embassy life into the comic, before crossover craziness really took over the title towards the end (it was still GOOD, but the book worked better when Rucka had more of a free hand with it all - even if he was responsible for some of the crossovers involved).
