In every installment of I Love Ya But You’re Strange I spotlight strange but ultimately endearing comic stories. Feel free to e-mail me at brianc@cbr.com if you have a suggestion for a future installment!

"L'il Gotham" was an adorable comic book series that ran for a little over a year back in 2011-2013 (it appeared digitally at first and then came out in print). It was written by Derek Fridolfs and Dustin Nguyen and was drawn by Nguyen. Most of the first dozen issues took place at notable holidays.

The Thanksgiving issue (which appeared in the second digital issue and the first print issue - each print issue would reprint two digital first stories) opens with an adorable sequence where Batman and Robin (Bruce and Damian Wayne) are watching the Gotham City Thanksgiving Day Parade and see the balloons, including a Batman balloon!

Did you know that Batman has NEVER had a balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? What's up with, Macy's? What the hell, damn guy?

The Parade is suddenly interrupted by the Penguin, who has shown up with an army of turkeys and they're ready to take back the holiday!!

Batman and Robin show up and Robin shows off some surprisingly good trumpet skills to make the turkeys follow him and then Batman uses his balloon to take out the Penguin...

We see a sweet family dinner with all of the Bat-Family and then see that Batman has sent Thanksgiving dinner to his villains, as well, but for the Penguin, there's a sad twist...

That's a hilariously dark ending! I love it!

"L'il Gotham" was a great series. I miss it.
