360ep announced today that the launch of its new comic series, The Insiders, has been postponed. The first issue will still have its remarkable 7-cent cover price, but Insiders #1 will not be released until later in 2006.
“We have spent the past two months listening to input from readers on the creative side and retailers on the business side, and came to the conclusion that the book and our business plan are just not ready for the comic market,” explained Bill Jemas, former Marvel President and Publisher, and current 360ep CEO. “On the creative side, the consensus is that the premise is very promising, but the execution could be better; we decided to take the time and put in the work to try to make book one great. On the business side, many retailers supported the Insiders #1 with large orders, and many were generous with their input about the pitfalls faced by new comic publishers; and we decided to rebuild our business plan based on that advice”.
“We appreciate all of the great retailer support we’ve gotten on this book so far, and want to pledge to retailers, and fans, that when the book hits stores, it will be the break-out book of 2006,” said Teresa Focarile, 360ep Editor. “This book will definitely be worth the wait!”
