10 "The Unworthy Thor" #1

The original Thor has been primarily absent from comics since "Secret Wars," but fear not -- a new series, titled "The Unworthy Thor," will catch up with the classic Marvel Comics character as he embarks on a quest to find another Mjolnir that's supposedly somewhere in the cosmos. The new title will see writer Jason Aaron continue his work on the Odinson, alongside veteran Thor artist Olivier Coipel, who first made his mark on the character with a landmark run alongside J. Michael Straczynski last decade.

Aaron recently confirmed that fan-favorite Thor character Beta Ray Bill will appear in the series -- specifically, at the end of the first issue. "I don't want to ruin how he shows up," Aaron told Marvel.com, "but I love the theme at the end of that first issue, which was actually my editor Will Moss's idea. Why Bill shows up and what he does when he first shows up, I think it's pretty exciting and Beta-Ray Bill fans will dig it."

9 "Thanos" #1

Writer Jeff Lemire and artist Mike Deodato Jr. are serving up a new ongoing series this fall starring Marvel Comics' Mad Titan, Thanos. Not a ton is known about the series, but teaser art indicates that the classic cosmic villain could be going after the Phoenix Force, the omnipotent entity that possessed Jean Grey, driving her mad and eventually (sort of) killing her. The series looks to explore not only Thanos, but other characters from the villain's lore, including Starfox and Thane.

Lemire previously told CBR of the new series, "It's his journey, but it's also the journey of Thane and Starfox and other characters, and their relationship with Thanos. But it also has a huge canvas and huge potential, so I want to try and balance it where you get a bit of both. Certainly, where it's going with some things that I am setting up in the first arc has the potential to be a massive, universe-shaking story. If I do my job right, you will get both: a deep character study of Thanos, and also setting up a massive Marvel story."

8 "Black Panther: World of Wakanda" #1

In November, Marvel is launching the companion series to Ta-Nehisi Coates and Brian Stelfreeze's acclaimed "Black Panther" title, called "Black Panther: World of Wakanda." From writer Roxane Gay and artist Alitha Martinez, "World of Wakanda," as the name suggests, looks to offer a more intimate world-building perspective on the home turf of Black Panthe that places the focus on the interpersonal relationships and struggles of the African Kingdom's inhabitants. Additionally, Coates, Yona Harvey and artist Afua will serve up a back-up tale for the first issue, likely tying together both "Black Panther" series.

Gay said of "Black Panther: World of Wakanda" (via Marvel.com), "...my book is going to be pretty intimate. There's going to be all kinds of action, but I'm also really excited to show Ayo and Aneka's relationship, build on that love story, and also introduce some other members of the Dora Milaje."

7 "Avengers" #1

"Civil War II" is shaking up a lot of teams in the wake of its conclusion, and in particular, Marvel's flagship Avengers team will look slightly different than it does today. Based on the "Champions" announcement, we know that the teenage members of the team -- Nova, Ms. Marvel and Spider-Man (Miles Morales) -- will fracture off into their own team, leaving the roster with the adult legacy characters, along with a few additions. From what we can tell, based on the solicit info and art, the team will consist of the following: Captain America (Sam Wilson), Thor (Jane Foster), The Vision, The Wasp (Nadia Pym), Spider-Man (Peter Parker) and Hercules. Additionally, the preview text teases "KANG WAR ONE," indicating that the classic time-travelling Avengers villain will be playing a big role in the relaunched series' first arc. And while Waid is back to pen the team, Mike Del Mundo is stepping in to replace Mahmud Asrar on Marvel's flagship Earth's Mightiest Heroes title.

6 "Ghost Rider" #1

Ghost Rider is about to get a much higher profile, thanks to the recent decision to bring the character to the small-screen as a regular on "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." this coming season. So, naturally, Ghost Rider will be making his return to comics -- but it won't be the original incarnation of the character, rather, the Marvel NOW! version, Robbie Reyes, will be the focus of the new title. Co-creator Felipe Smith will return to pen Robbie's new adventures, with Danilo Beyruth on interior art and co-creator Tradd Moore serving up back-up stories. The series will see Robbie team-up with other young characters in the Marvel Universe, like Amadeus Cho's Totally Awesome Hulk and Laura Kinney's Wolverine.

"Prior Ghost Riders were compelled to do good," Smith explained of the character, who is not a spirit of a vengeance but rather a young man possessed by the specter of a serial killed named Eli Morrow. "Robbie makes the choice to do good things, because it's the spirit who compels him to kill."

5 "Venom" #1

With the Guardians of the Galaxy set to return to Earth, Venom's status quo looks to be getting a shakeup. Though the symbiote has bonded to Flash Thompson as of late, a new "Venom" series teases a more classic take on the character, as the art depicts the classic Spider-Man villain and anti-hero in a more traditional costume with that wonderful tongue. From writer Miek Costa and artist Gerardo Sandoval, the new series promises a return to Venom's villainous roots, and an all-new host for the symbiote.

Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Axel Alonso said of the new series, "Venom is returning for an all-new series as part of Marvel NOW! But which Venom? Mike Costa and Gerardo Sandoval have some big ideas, and fans are going to lose it when they learn who's wearing the symbiote."

4 "IVX" #0

The "Inhumans vs. X-Men" saga kicks off in November with "IVX" #0, a prequel issue that looks to set the stage for the mutant vs. Inhuman event series. So far, we know that the two factions will face-off because of a conflict that stems from the controversial Terrigan Mists, which cause the death of mutants, but create new Inhumans. The solicit text indicates that we'll find out who the "major players" are for the event, as both sides assemble their ranks in the issue, by writer Charles Soule and artist Kenneth Rocafort . Since the future of Marvel's X-Men comics is still a mystery -- though we know there will be X-Men comics -- "IVX" is a must-read for those curious about what's in store for Marvel's Mighty Mutants. With "Death of X" on the horizon, and the Inhumans sure to get a higher profile, considering their bigger presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "IVX" #0 is not to be missed.

3 "Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows" #1

Legendary "Amazing Spider-Man" scribe (and Gwen Stacey killer!) Gerry Conway is making a return to Spider-Man with revered artist Ryan Stegman ("Uncanny Avengers") for a resurrection of the Secret Wars tie-in "Renew Your Vows," which depicts an alternate reality where Peter and Mary Jane are still married, and they have a super-powered daughter named Annie. The fun new take on the characters proved to be a massive success during "Secret Wars," so it's natural that Marvel would want the timeline to continue -- and we're not complaining! It's been a treat to get an alternate married take on our favorite heroes -- as evident with the current "Superman" run over at DC -- so we can't wait to see the more classic take on Spidey make a return, with his family, for an all-new ongoing series. The series looks to offer a crime-fighting Parker family that boasts their own super-cool Spider-Man costumes; get a better look at the designs here.

2 "Invincible Iron Man" #1

Marvel's fully embracing the new Iron Man, Riri Williams -- who will take on the codename Ironheart -- in a relaunched "Invincible Iron Man" title this fall. A brilliant, fifteen year-old M.I.T. student, Riri built her own Iron Man armor during the current run, which will be getting an update for the new series. The suit will include A.I. based on Tony Stark's personality -- but aside from that, we're not sure how much Stark will actually feature in the series.

"Iron Woman seemed old fashioned to some," said series writer and Riri Williams creator Brian Michael Bendis. "Iron Maiden looked like a legal nightmare. And Ironheart, coined by Joe Quesada, after I told him my planned story for Riri, speaks not only to the soul of the character but to the Iron Man franchise as a whole. Tony first put on the armor to save his heart. Riri puts it on for different reasons altogether but still heart-related. When people see her story, you'll be amazed at how simple and brilliant Joe's suggestion."

1 "Civil War II" #8

Unexpectedly, Marvel announced an additional "Civil War II" issue from writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist David Marquez a couple weeks back, which was added to allow them to tell a bigger version of their original ending -- thus, giving us their "Final Vision." So, this is a bit of an early Christmas present.

The solicit text, however, gives us no new info surrounding the plot. We know the issue will have major ramifications on Marvel's titles going forward, but can't tell at this point what that might entail.

"First of all, the response from fans over 'Civil War II' has been so heartwarming," Bendis said in reference to the added eighth issue. "Secondly, over the summer I thought of a different, hopefully better, way to tell our ending. It's not a different ending but a different way to tell it and I am so happy that Marvel gave us this chance to do our thing. Some fans already know that a lot is going to change in the Marvel Universe post-'Civil War II' but we've kept some secrets secret and issue #8 is chock full of them."

Who will live, who will die, and when's the next event?
